Yamaha’s High Thrust four strokes, are built for jobs that call for more muscle—like pushing a heavy pontoon, adding extra kick to a multi-species boat or maneuvering a sailboat through a crowded marina. Available in 60, 50, an all-new 25 and a 9.9 horsepower, their larger lower units and higher gear ratios produce substantially more thrust than conventional outboards of the same horsepower using standard propellers. In fact, when paired with our Dual Thrust™ propellers, (optional on T60/T50 and standard on our T25 and T9.9) Yamaha High Thrusts produce up to 60 percent more forward thrust and up to 70 percent more thrust in reverse.
Yamaha’s 212cc 9.9hp High Thrust outboard is the perfect kicker for bass, flats and multi-species boats. Available in both 20-inch and 25-inch shaft lengths, it can even power boats with 25-inch transoms that venture into deeper, rougher waters. At just 104 pounds, it provides a surprising combination of high-thrust power and portability.
KEY FEATURES
Compact, Lightweight Design: A two-cylinder, single-overhead-camshaft platform and streamlines intake manifold provides an efficient, light design.
Portability and Storage: Built-in front and rear handles make these lightweights easy to carry. Resting pads and an easy oil retention system allow for convenient on-side storage without cowling scuffs or oil leakage.
Propeller Protection: Yamaha’s Shallow Water Drive, standard on all 8hp tiller handle models, helps keep the propeller and lower unit out of harm’s way in shallow water.
